Oh goodness! I'm a finalist in the etsy Handmade Kids Contest in not one not two but three categories! I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself-- so be sure to vote for.... my firefighter dress up set in clothing Canopy in Home Decor and my signature Tea Set in toys!
So it's been a lifetime since I posted(or at least it feels that way) I've been absolutely swamped the last few days!I had this brilliant idea to host a party at someone's house that I knew, who had kids and she invited all of her friends that had kids--25 were invited and 15 showed up and I made out with more sales than I have ever had at a single craft show and it only lasted 2 hours! I highly recommend doing this for any crafter, just make sure your target audience are the one's who are invited and if you make stuff for kids like me provide free babysitting, parents are much more likely to buy when their kids are behaving and not distracting them from buying! Anyways this brings me back to why I was so very very busy because I was finishing up the bulk of the orders this week on top of my etsy workload! I talking about several days in a row of work for 8am to 1am..I can not wait for a little vacation that I just so happen to be taking up to Rock Island tomorrow!
You might be wondering why I had not posted in a while and its because I have some crazy busy past few days! Between going up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for camping and celebrating my 19th birthday. The UP is absolutely gorgeous and where we went canoe camping it was pristine so here are some pictures--enjoy!
You definitely reach a certain point when you take your crafting project to the beach--which is exactly what I did yesterday. I went up to Whitefish Dunes State Park up in Door County(about an hours drive away) where we had a picnic on the beach went for a swim and of course--did some sewing right next to this fun sand crocodile that someone made. We also had a good laugh when someone commented that it would be a shame when the tide came and washed it away--seeing as we were on lake Michigan! Anyways I didn't mind sewing so much since I had a new needle case that I made for myself inspired by one I had seen on etsy-- I love it its just so cute(and useful)!!
So some recent alchemy requests on etsy from a teacher let me create two things that I had always wanted to make--a canopy(which is much more deluxe than the hot glued floral canopies I made for a fundraiser back in my Girl Scout days) and a lovely little patchwork growth chart with tags that can be safety pinned in placed. I'm super happy with how these two came out so look out for them in my etsy shop soon!
