Yesterday all of us fibers girls piled into two vans and made our way to St. Etienne to see the last of the factories where Provencal fabric is printed in France(the rest have been shipped off to Asia) It is a family run business and the fabrics that we saw being printed were gorgeous. It was be far one of the best experiences I have had so far. Afterwards we went to St. Remy and had lunch and went to the chocolatier!
One of the pieces of machinery that was printing tablecloths.
Flat bed screen printing that was robotic, one guy who has been an employee for 20 years was in charge of switching our screens and pouring in ink.
Some of the beautiful fabric!
One of the screens--it was huge like eight feet tall.
The trees! They were beautiful tunnels on the way to and from St.Remy.
