This quarter I'm taking screenprinting as one of my three classes. In it there is a focus on printing yardage of fabric, but for our first project we were to design a placement print using stencils, drawing fluid, and screen filler. I chose to make a version of my two faced dollie (I just printed a one faced dollie though). I printed her with 4 colors and in three different colorways of pinks and reds. After I had them printed I decided to add a little free motion embroidery and of course a little pink vintage ribbon bow.
This is what my prints looked like before I cut them up and sewed them together.
This is the finished product(I'll be listing these as soon as they have been critiqued!).
I got the very best surprise on my doorstep this morning---my vintage manual typewriter came from dear Sharon! Such an exciting start to a Monday morning! Perfect timing too so that I could address all the envelopes for my Easter cards(a little belated I know) which I made using a letterpress that I built (post on that coming soon!)
Isn't it just beautiful? Love love love it with the great little clicking of the keys and just the prettiest shade of blue!
