Yesterday I had the great pleasure to watch some of my dear friends graduate with their bachelor degrees from the Savannah College of Art and Design and I figured I'd give them a shout out (in the fibers tradition) right here!
Here is another book I have yet to share photos of, also from my bookmaking class. It was my final for the class, where we could basically make whatever we wanted--so I chose to make a carousel book on a miniature scale. I like things that are small and cute.
I had the privilege of spending mother's day with Ma Mere, since my parents decided to visit Savannah for the weekend. I also got to give her this little book that I made in my bookmaking class last quarter-- Such a great weekend and oh how I just love my mother so!
On Monday I had the privilege of photographing some of my dearest friend's work for their senior portfolios. It was fun to do some photostyling and hang out with friends even though the weather was absolutely hot and humid(I feel sweaty just thinking about it).
First up was Miss Erica Parker and her quilts and their sweet matching plush friends.
Next was Miss Kara Wentz, and all of her lovely creations from little books to stuffed animals to this gorgeous dress.
A number of weeks ago I made this sweet bunny girl. She was my first project for my studio production class. She is a version of this bunny girl in my etsy shop only this little lady doubles as a pajama case (she has little buttons down her back so you can store a little nightgown inside her). The assignment was to design a product that had an objective function--mine was assigned as sleeping. Then we had to apply a subjective function which was based upon a truism that we believe--mine being to value quality over quantity.
