Hmm things are looking quite holiday-ish around here. I've got my Christmas tree decorated now I just need to craft, craft, craft! Between custom orders, one more holiday artist market, & handmade Christmas gifts for my family I've got a nice to do list at the moment.

As the summer came to a close, I found myself really wanting to make a change in my apartment/studio. I had the perfect excuse to, when I was given a lovely corner cupboard that once belonged to my great grandmother (who shares my initials CBB). I am really liking my new set up--it feels more spacious, and uses what space I have more efficiently. Here is a peek. One of these days I should do another proper tour of the place, but for now I'll leave you with this:

So there is this kind of funny place up here in the state of Vermont known as State Surplus where you can find + purchase a number of things from office furniture to pocket knives confiscated at the airport to even surveying equipment if you are so inclined. Apparently at one point in time they had a letterpress for sale and I, for one, am very bummed that I missed out on that. I made my first trip there last weekend and did find some lovelies to take home with me. Mainly for $5 I got this awesome desk chair that was probably made in the 60's. I also found some labels meant for use with a typewriter and I couldn't pass that up!
Yep. That is an avacado green chair. Or maybe it's closer to an apple green. Either way I like it.
Now I can sit in my 60's chair and type on my manual typewriter from the same era. Like maybe some labels now that I have two boxes of them in white and manila.
But for now I am liking it at my sewing desk (so comfy!). You might have noticed that my desk and couch have swapped places. This setup is working a lot better for me and it was good that it made me sort through my stuff (or should I say hoard).

p.s. this photo definitely displays my affinity for organizing things in rainbow order. As a child I would obsessively keep my markers & crayons in rainbow order in their box, and I guess that habit has stuck with me!

another great benefit of living in VT is access to my grandfather's basement which has everything you need for woodworking! My first project was a pair of pine frames for two letterpress prints that I had previously hung up in their clear plastic sleeves (not as classy as their new frames, that's for sure!)

So this is where its at--my new space in Vermont that is cute cute cute. Not to mention that I love living someplace that is quiet(it is located in a quaint little neighborhood) and it has great features like a washer and dryer (no more laundromat for me--hooray!)
lets start with quite possibly my favorite part--these great shelves I got at an antique store (conveniently located just down the road from my new place) which now house (most) of my fabric collection.
I also scored this precious bookshelf at the same place.
At another antique shop I discovered this little gem--a wonderful drop leaf table that has already come in handy for screen-printing (more on that in another post!)
my typewriter even has its own little place! also 15 foot ceilings are wonderful.

I am now located a whole 1,100 miles north of Savannah in a cute little one bedroom apartment in Vermont. I was lucky enough to move in on a day when it wasn't raining(which it has done most days since I've been here) but not so lucky that it was the hottest day yet this year (nearly 90 degrees and no air conditioning!). This is my little place before I moved in all of my cute stuff...

Oh how time flies! Just four more weeks left of my junior year of college. I have been a little slack on posting so here are some of the happenings around here...
finished up the binding on the quilt made with the kiddos over at the YMCA...
