I was just catching up with one of my favorite blogs, The Purl Bee, and I saw a little something exciting! You see, back when I was an intern for Denyse Schmidt I helped to make samples for a book--a book that is now published. Anyways, I spied one of the quilts that I pieced!!

The orange peel quilt! Appliqued on my trusty Husqvarna.

thursdays

This is what my Thursdays look like. I spend them skiing because I am training for the TjejVasan in Sweden! Which means in a little over a week I will be on a plane to Stockholm. Every Thursday I have been making a little trek up to this lovely place and enjoying winter. (and the pretty views!)

You've probably noticed that my posting has been a little slack lately since I have been devoting quite a bit of time and focus to my training. Not to worry--I have a few crafty posts up my sleeve that I'm excited to share. In the meantime, check out this Swedish etsy shop full of cute illustrated things....

finds: vintage furniture

a few weekends ago I went to Maine and came back with some lovely vintage finds...

the first was a chair, purchased right here in VT at state surplus. (actually it is more of a chair/stepstool combo)

the second piece of furniture is a pretty blue table that came from my family's old cabin, which I call the mouse house since we don't use it anymore so the only ones staying there are the mice. Although it required a bit of a cleaning--it was worth the trouble! It has some very cute matching chairs that I haven't gotten a chance to photograph yet.

I also found some great old jars, a never-been-used melmac tea set, and other odds and ends that I also took home with me & hope to get around to photographing too! (soon!)

finds: beautiful buttons

A while ago (sometime over the summer I think?) I scored a nice little bag of pretty buttons on even prettier cards for just 25 cents at the thrift shop.

How come buttons don't come so beautifully packaged nowadays?!? I look at these and feel so inspired!
